Rose Scovel is the Indy Racers captain for Indy Runners and serves on the Indy Runners board in that capacity. She began running at age 32 after being diagnosed with Type II diabetes. Since 2008 she has run 38 half marathons and 2 marathons as well as hundreds of shorter races. She is also a triathlete having finished more than a dozen sprint tris, two Olympic distance triathlons, and an Ironman 70.3 race.
Rose is also on the steering committee for the Indiana TourdeCure, benefiting the American Diabetes Association and has ridden the century (100 mile) ride in both Indiana and Michigan. She has done the Register’s Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) twice as well. When she is not training or racing Rose is the Director of Capacity Building for the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development (IACED). She and her husband live, work, and train in Indianapolis, Indiana.
