Lilly Riherd, a partner at TRAXrunning in Bowling Green, KY, has been an avid runner most of her life. Growing up in the sporting goods industry through the family business, she was exposed to athletics at an early age. Running, in particular was her favorite sport. Lilly has run 11 marathons, 3 of which were the Boston Marathon. Her first marathon was the Inaugural Music City Marathon at the age of 40. She also has competed in several 5k’s, 10k’s, half marathons and triathlons. Lilly was awarded the RRCA Kentucky State Championship 10K Female Grandmasters award in 2010 and 2011.
Lilly’s main passion is the bg26.2 & half marathon, in which she serves as Race Director. The bg26.2 & half marathon, a Boston Qualifier, is always held on the first Sunday in November. She also is the Race Director for the FROZEN4, a 4 mile race benefiting a local high school athlete in need of medical financial assistance. Over $25,000 has been raised through this event and over $40,000 to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society from the bg26.2’s efforts.
Lilly has also started over 30 run clubs in the local elementary schools. Her goal is to see that all elementary schools in the surrounding counties near Bowling Green have run clubs.
