Brad has been running since seventh grade, and, as he likes to say of himself “boy, are my legs tired!” After being a 5k/10k runner most of his life, Brad ran his first half-marathon at age 40 and first marathon (Marine Corps) at age 41. Since then, he has run 15 marathons and so many half-marathons he’s quit counting. In 2013, Brad ran 62 miles (100k) in a 24-hour event. Favorite marathons have been City of Oaks, Chicago, Hinson Lake Ultra, Nashville Country Music, Umstead, Boogie, and, of course, Disney. 2015 is Brad’s third year as a group leader for the Jeff Galloway training program. In addition to being a five-year former president of the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, he is also a member of the Mangum Track Club, the nOg Run Club, and the Chatuge Running Club. Brad is also the race director of the NCRC’s American Tobacco Trail 10-Miler in October, a seven-time RRCA state championship race.
