Oregon State Representative - Mark Barrett
Mark started running in 1974 as a freshman in high school in Minnesota, getting out the door—rain, shine, or freezing temperatures. He moved to Oregon in 1991, when he joined the Oregon Road Runners Club. He has raced everything from a mile to a marathon and has logged over 65,000 lifetime miles. He directs two ORRC races, the Hagg Lake Run and the Vernonia Half Marathon. His favorite races include the Hood to Coast and Rainier to Ruston relays, which he has run with a group of friends known as the Hagg Lake Harriers. In addition to running he enjoys being part of a community theatre. He is a teacher and the father of two children. He lives in Forest Grove, just down the road from Nike in Beaverton.
