Runners say 'thanks!'
The Fredericksburg Area Running Club would like to thank the Marine Corps Marathon and the city of Fredericksburg for the just-concluded Historic Half weekend.
The race, the Expo, and all the surrounding events truly help promote running as a healthy lifestyle throughout our own very active community.
FARC is proud that so many of our members participated in the races, including Historic Half winner Bert Jacoby and Molly Roohi, who won the Women's Semper Fred 5K.
We especially want to thank all the runners, support crews, volunteers, spectators, sponsors, and city staff who make the Historic Half such a tremendous event. Many of these people support local running all year long.
Thank you also to The Free Lance-Star for its coverage of the area running community, and FARC's Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Race Series, for its support of the Great Train Race earlier this month.
In a few short weeks, we've had the Great Train Race and the Historic Half; it's no wonder that last year the Road Runners Club of America selected Fredericksburg as a Runner Friendly Community in its inaugural class of this honored designation.
