Actor Jim Klock, U.S. Congressman Wittman to Start Marine Corps Historic Half

Tenth anniversary of the event to occur May 21 in Fredericksburg, VA

QUANTICO, VA (May 4, 2017) – Jim Klock of Fredericksburg, VA doesn’t just play a police officer in movies and on TV, he lives the part having served 19 years in law enforcement in both Alexandria and Stafford  VA. Klock will be in his hometown May 19-21 to join the U.S. Marines as they host the tenth anniversary of the Marine Corps Historic Half.
 
Klock and U.S. Congressman Rob Wittman will serve as official starters of the event that begins at 7 a.m. on Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg’s Central Park.

Klock, still a part-time deputy sheriff for Stafford County, has worked and trained in many areas of law enforcement including SWAT tactics and hostage negotiations. He also is a former narcotics detective who has most recently appeared in films including “Deep Water Horizon,” and “The Whole Truth,” released in 2016. His television credits include “True Detective,” “Scream Queens,” and “24,” to name a few. His impressive producing credits include “The Trials of Cate McCall” with Kate Beckinsale. Klock also writes, directs and stars in the web series “Interrogations Gone Wrong,” guest starring Keanu Reeves. Klock also directed and starred in “Massacre on Aisle 12,” released in February 2017 after winning Best Comedy at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival.
 
Klock will speak about his experiences from police work to Hollywood at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo’s Speaker’s Square on May 19 starting at 5 p.m., and on May 20 at 2 p.m. The Expo will be held at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center at 2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway. 
 
On Sunday, May 21, Klock and Congressman Wittman will fire the starting pistols for thousands of Historic Half participants from 46 states and seven countries. The runners will enjoy a scenic course through Fredericksburg’s historic downtown, passing by the University of Mary Washington and many significant landmarks dating back to our nation’s forefathers, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe.
 
Additional runners will participate in the Semper 5ive (five miler) and a new event, the Devil Dog Double that challenges participants to complete both the Semper 5ive and Historic Half marathon, running an 18.1-mile distance with three finisher medals presented by a U.S. Marine for their accomplishment!
 
Registration is open for both the Marine Corps Historic Half and Semper 5ive at www.marinemarathon.com. The Devil Dog Double is sold out.
