Dec 19 RRCA Convention Fees Increase January 15, 2009RESERVE YOUR SPOT; RESERVE YOUR ROOM FOR 2009 RRCA CONVENTIONRate increase begins January 15, 2009 SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 17, 2008—The deadline to take advantage of the “early bird” discount is fast approaching for the 2009 Road Runners Club of America National Convention, which takes place March 26 to March 28, 2009 at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Guests must register by January 15, 2009 to attend the full conference for $250. After that date, the price increases to $275. Convention directors also report that the host hotel, the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf, is now 50% full. Reserve your room now! The four-day RRCA Convention promises a wide range of seminars, as well as fun and informative activities for club directors and members alike. Keynote speakers include former Olympian Frank Shorter, “Ultramarathon Man” Dean Karnazes, and Runner’s World Chief Running Officer Bart Yasso, all of whom promise to lead entertaining and insightful discussions. Our full seminar schedule will cover topics to help club directors lead their group to a higher level of success, with such themes as “Greening Your Race,” “How to Best Utilize Active.com,” “Course Measurement,” and “Race Marketing and Communications Strategies.” Club members, including runners of all levels and abilities, will enjoy seminars on nutrition, half marathon, marathon and ultrarunning training, sports psychology, and trail running. At the end of each busy day, guests can enjoy evening runs along the Embarcadero, nighttime receptions at nearby locales, and the annual RRCA Awards Banquet. In the morning hours, guests join group runs in San Francisco or along the famous Dipsea Trail. On Sunday, the RRCA challenges you to enter the Presidio 10, a hilly course that takes runners from the Golden Gate Bridge through the Presidio.
