Jan 8 RRCA National 10 K Championship PreviewPresidio 10: RRCA National 10K Championship Expects to Sell OutHosted by the Guardsmen and the Ashlyn Dyer Foundation, the Presidio 10 will have its 25th running of a fun, family-oriented race in the Presidio of San Francisco. Runners can choose either a 10 mile or a 10 kilometer scenic course starting and finishing at Crissy Field. Both run courses go over and back on the Golden Gate Bridge. Entertainment at the Finish Line Expo includes awards for age divisions, hot breakfast, multiple sponsor demonstrations and giveaways, music and entertainment. For 2009 The Presidio 10 will be the host race of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) National Convention to be held March 26-29th in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. The 10K is the 2009 RRCA National Championship race and the 10mile race is the 2009 RRCA Western Regional Championship. There will also be a competition between all of the RRCA clubs represented at the race. Sign up early as the race will be limited to 4,000 runners. About The Ashlyn Dyer Fund: On March 2, 2006, Ashlyn Dyer was the victim of a hit and run accident while running through the Presidio in San Francisco. The Ashlyn Dyer Foundation for Neurological Research was created to honor Ashlyn Dyer’s memory by making a positive impact for others affected with Traumatic Brain Injury. The Foundation aims to fund research and raise public awareness of this disease. ###
