New Arkansas RRCA State Rep Appointed

RRCA President Brent Ayer has approved Southern Director Ken Bendy’s nomination of Andrea Sieczkowski for the position of Arkansas RRCA State Rep.

Kim Howard, retiring Arkansas RRCA Rep introduced Sieczkowski as the new State Rep at the AR Long Distance Running Meeting held in Hot Springs, AR November 27, 2008. She and Kim are working closely to ensure a smooth transition by the end of December.

Andrea Sieczkowski started running in high school and while she primarily ran the 400 meter event she, qualified for the state meet in the high jump, earning all-state honors. She continued those events in college at Central Missouri State University where she graduated with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Audiology. Andrea later earned her clinical doctorate in Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology and is currently an adjunct faculty member/instructor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

She began road racing in 2002, competing in mostly 5K races as well as completing triathlons and mountain bike events. Andrea ran her first marathon in 2003. After moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, she became active in Little Rock Roadrunners Club and took a leadership role in the club’s Advanced Training Group along with serving on the uniform committee. She is very much involved in the Arkansas RRCA Grand Prix Series and is also a charter member of the Columbia Multi sport club.

She earned the Arkansas RRCA’s Most Improved Runner of the Year Award in 2007 while earning Iron Woman status by completing every race in the Grand Prix Series, in which she placed 3rd Overall. She ran her second marathon in November of 2007, qualifying for the Boston Marathon, which she ran in April of this year. Andrea has continued to improve, setting numerous PRs this year while training for the Chicago Marathon in October.

She looks forward to having the opportunity to promote RRCA programs and policies. She will continue to have all national updates and press releases available on the Arkansas RRCA website. In addition, she will be adding a blog to further promote the national programs. We are proud to have her as a member of the Southern Region Team.
