Online Voting Test Information

As reported in the RRCA News on October 1st, the RRCA Board of Directors will be conducting a test of the online voting system, VoteNet. In 2008, attendees to the RRCA National Convention were invited to participate in a test of the system. As a result of this initial test, the RRCA Board of Directors has approved a second and larger scale test of the online voting system, VoteNet.

The second test of the online voting system will be open to ALL voting members of the RRCA for the 2009 election. This will only be a TEST, and the results will have no bearing on the results of the official election that will be conducted at the RRCA Annual Meeting of the Membership in San Francisco on March 27, 2009. The purpose of the test is to determine if online voting is feasible for the RRCA and to develop best practices in the event that the RRCA Board recommends online voting be adopted in the future.

On Wednesday March 25th, the official representative for clubs/events in good standing (renewed) as of March 1st will receive an email with a designated user name and password along with a link to the online ballot. The online ballot will open at 12:00 PM Eastern on March 27th and close at 5:00 PM Eastern on March 28th. Official representatives will receive an email reminder along with their user name and password on Friday March 27th.

You will be asked to vote for each board seat that is up for election: Lena Hollmann as Southern Region Director, David Epstein as Western Region Director, Kelly Richards as At-Large Director, and Dan Edwards as At-Large Director (no additional names were submitted for consideration on the ballot following the invitation period).

At the end of the ballot, please respond to the two survey questions that will help the RRCA learn about your experience with this digital voting system.

All questions about the online voting test should be directed to Jean Knaack at .

To participate in the Official Election of the 2009 RRCA Board of Directors, you can attend the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Membership in San Francisco, CA on March 27, 2009.
