On November 25th, 2012 Space Coast Runners, Inc. and Running Zone Foundation will be hosting one of the most unique marathons in the country, the Space Coast Marathon and Half-Marathon. A “space” theme was incorporated five years ago and the participation has increased from 538 finishers in 2006 to a record 3,093 finishers in 2011.
This year represents the 41th anniversary of the Space Coast Marathon. The race will take place along the beautiful Indian River in Cocoa and Rockledge, Florida. This year we have Bart Yasso, editor at Runners World, as the keynote speaker and the presenter at the awards presentation. We are expecting approximately 4,000 – 4,500 participants to compete in this event and our beneficiary for this year’s event is Team in Training (The Brevard Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society).
