Timed 5K or 10K run, and 5K walk. Flat, fast, paved loop around Lake Merritt (10K is two loops). Start time: 9 am. Start and finish: Lakeside Park, Lake Merritt Sailboat House, 568 Bellevue Ave., Oakland. Advance entry fee: $20 (non-refundable); register online at: www.eastbayfrontrunners.org or by mail to: East Bay Front Runners, PO Box 71722, Oakland, CA 94612 (mail must be postmarked by Oct. 1, 2012). Race-day registration: $25. Proceeds benefit these organizations: Running for a Better Oakland, Midway Shelter in Alameda, Pacific Center in Berkeley, and Oakland East Bay Gay Men’s Chorus.
