Location:
Village of Goshen, Orange County NY
Start – “Lawyers Row,” near the intersection of Park Place & Main Street, Goshen NY; Finish – Goshen Historic Track, 44 Park Place, Goshen NY
Course:
Figure 8 course heading west toward Middletown for the first loop before returning to Goshen at approximately mile 11.4 (also the first relay leg), then heading east toward Chester for the second loop (2nd relay leg ends at the Chester Depot at the Heritage Trail entrance and is 10 miles long) and finishing back in Goshen (the last 5 miles (also the last leg of the relay) is on the Heritage Trail from Chester to Goshen and continues through some of the streets in Goshen to the finish line on horse track and is flat and fast). Both loops finish on the Heritage Trail, with the finish line located on the actual Historic Track surface. Runs through the beautiful roads and farm lands of Orange County during the height of autumn foliage season.
Full 26.2 mile marathon and three-person relay using the same course. Relay distances will be 11.2 miles, 10 miles, and 5 miles (last leg is flat and fast). Finish line festival (more details to follow) at the Historic Track. Goodie bags and jacket or tech shirt to all participants. Finisher medals to full marathon finishers. Awards for overall winners in the individual marathon, relay, and age groups. USATF Certified Course. Well marked, well supported course including water & sports drink every 2 miles (minimum) and junk food / gel stop(s). Live music on the course. Disposable chip timing.
