Chicken What? We’re calling this 5K and Children’s Fun Run the “Chicken Run,” but actually there will be no real
chickens running. It is so named in honor of Bruce Hansen, a good man and avid cartoonist whose signature character was a chicken. But, hey, you might want to practice running like a chicken just in case you’re
inspired to do so on race day.
5K course on the grounds of Soldiers & Sailors
Memorial Park, 1 Memorial Park Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA.

9 a.m. - Registration/packet pick up begins at the Park
10 a.m. - 5K Run begins
10:45 a.m.- Children’s Fun Run begins
11 a.m. - Awards presentation at the finish line
Why? To honor the memory of our great friend Bruce J. Hansen and raise funds for the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, an organization Bruce supported. Plus, you’ll get a really cool t-shirt, and you could win a prize. Awards will be given to the overall top finishers (male & female) and the three male & female top finishers in each age group: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69, 70+. All children fun run
participants will receive a prize, too!
