Event Information

This 62.2 mile loop starts and ends at the field house on the campus of Washington State University. Solo runners (ultras) start at 6 a.m., relay teams start at 7:30 or 8:30 a.m.; start times assigned at registration. Teams of 2-10 runners, in five divisions, run the course which is mostly paved over rolling countryside but also includes a 1900-foot downhill, almost 17 miles of completely flat course alongside the Snake River and a steep, 1700-foot climb on a dry, dusty, gravel road. Relay legs range from 4.1 miles to 8.9 miles, so something for everyone. Shirts to all runners, trophy and ribbons to winning relay teams in each division while runners in 2nd thru 5th place teams get ribbons. Solos get glass keepsakes, water bottles, sweatshirts. Weather variable but often freezing or below at solo start time and warming to the mid-70's by mid-afternoon. 2013 is this race's 24th year.
