The Soldier Marathon and Half Marathon starts and finishes at the beautiful National Infantry Museum. The race course is through historic Ft. Benning, Georgia and along the Riverwalk of the Chattahoochee River. The course is certified as a Boston Marathon qualifying race and also with USA Track and Field. A Kids Soldier Marathon is also included in which kids ages 3 to 12 accumulate 26.2 miles, and run a one-mile fun run at the National Infantry Museum the Friday evening before the Soldier Marathon. Runners wear a bib in honor of a Fallen Hero who is a soldier who gave their life while serving our Country. The mission of the Soldier Marathon and Half Marathon is to salute the United States soldier, to showcase the Columbus, Ft. Benning and Phenix City, Alabama community, and to give runners a great experience. The beneficiaries of the Soldier Marathon and Half Marathon are the National Infantry Museum, which memorializes the history of the United States soldier, and the House of Heroes, which helps soldiers repair and rebuild their homes.
