Event Information

Tom's Run is a unique 200-mile team relay from Cumberland MD to Fort Hunt VA held annually in memory of Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Tom Brooks. Tom's Run is a celebration of teamwork, planning, perseverance, and community. This is a unique event in that it has no scheduled start time, but has a target finish time. That is, the goal of the event is for each team to be self-sufficient in planning their race to begin any time after midnight the first day to arrive with everyone else at 11:00 AM on the second day. Runners are at all times accompanied by a biker and the course includes 31 locations along the way where teams can swap their bikers and runners. The course has been completed 3 times by a solo runner who can start a day in advance of the other teams.
