Cranberry Isles ME
The Great Cranberry Island 50K Ultra Marathon was named "Best Race Ever" by Runner's World Magazine. It is hosted by the legendary Crow Athletics running club, on a small offshore island off the coast of Maine, accessible only by boat.
The start/finish line is located half a mile up from the town dock. The racecourse consists of the island’s only paved road, which is about two miles long. Each complete island circuit is four miles through a terrain of rolling hills, wildflower meadows, woods and ocean vistas. Runners complete the circuit seven times to finish the 50 kilometers.
Following the race there is a "real Maine" lobster feed and big bonfire. Runners have the option to camp out overnight on the island’s community field.
