Vail Victory Races / Trail Marathon
Sep 8 2013
The VAIL VICTORY RACES is a run/bike "trail weekend" in Vail, CO. The Victory 100K MTB Race is on Saturday, Sept 7 and the VICTORY TRAIL MARATHON is on Sunday, Sept 8. Athletes may sign up for one or both events. The field for each event is limited to 100 participants. Online registration expected to fill quickly so sign up early to reserve your space and guarantee your spot in the inaugural Vail Victory Races.
100 runners on Sunday (and bikers on Saturday) will race in beautiful backcountry of the White River National Forest. This exceptional course on the northern side of Vail includes dirt and gravel roads and winding single track trails. Fast flats, grueling uphills, and dizzying downhills make for an exciting and challenging course. Rocky Mountain vistas and scenic panoramas will inspire athletes all along the way. NOTE: The race course is primarily backcountry dirt roads & singletrack trails, with a short pavement section at the start & finish as racers head out and return to the West Vail staging area. A lead car at the start ensures a guided transition from road to trail. A sweep bike will follow the last racer in.
There are 6 aid stations along the way with energy gel, water, electrolyte replacement drink, fruit, and snacks. There will be a drop bag area midway on the course for personal items and additional food/drink replenishment.
Our Event Charitable Partner is the Vail Mountain Rescue Group (www.vailmountainrescue.org). $25 of your registration fee will directly benefit this non-profit group of volunteer men and women trained to respond to backcountry emergencies.
No race day registration available. Online registration will close once each race reaches capacity (100 participants). Register for the Victory Trail Marathon on active.com and "Be one of the lucky few."
