Event Information

The Clover Roamer Fun Run & Walk is a St. Patrick's Day themed event to benefit the Garden and Outdoor Education Space (GOES) at Lent School. Are you looking for a tune up for another event, or do you want to avoid the large crowds of some of the other St. Patrick's Day races? Bring your St. Patrick's Day holiday cheer, wear green and dress silly if you like and help Lent School further the GOES project for all those little urban farmers! It's an open course with volunteers directing runners/walkers at each turn. Event details: •$10 entry fee-children under the age of 14 are FREE! •Event shirts! The first 80 participants are guaranteed a shirt, but size is subject to availability. •Pizza from Pizza Roma (vegan options) for all who attend. •Tons of raffle prizes: including race entries from the Bald Peak Half, Joe Dudman 5K, Get A Clue Scavenger Race, The Huckleberry Half, Stoller Community 5K and the Canby Dahlia Run! Plus apparel, gift certificates and much more! •Costume contest! •A guy in a bear suit! •Balloon artist! • Pre-registration is available and ENCOURAGED starting January 20 up to March 12, 2014. All participants who pre-register will receive a 15% discount on any in stock shoes and apparel at Pace Setter Athletic. Drop in at the store and sign up for the Clover Roamer! •DAY OF registration (03/14) begins at 3pm A little about the GOES project: The garden develops the student’s knowledge and understanding of the science components in the Oregon state curriculum standards and beyond. The students also have the opportunity to plant, manage and harvest fresh vegetables from the garden and thus learn about nutrition and the importance of those vegetables in a healthy balanced diet. The Lent GOES project has big ambitions to expand the garden to include garden plots for Lent families to grow their own produce and to build a covered outdoor classroom that can be used for science lessons in the winter months. Your support will also aid the project to plant trees in the Community Space to provide a pleasant and inviting place where people can enjoy their surroundings and one another. The funding will also aid the GOES project for the monthly “Saturday Morning in the Garden” events that bring families together to socialize and learn about the garden. Thank you for your interest in the Clover Roamer and we'll see you on March 14! Call or text Bridge City Running & Walking with any questions or concerns at 503-715-6738.
