ChildrenIntroducing children to the joy of running at an early age can ensure a life long love of the sport of running. Before starting your child in a youth running program, talk with your pediatrician about age appropriate exercise needs for your child. Starting around age six, children should be encouraged to participate in organized activities that promote large and small muscle development and coordination. Throughout the country, RRCA members have innovative youth programs that motivate young runners. Contact a club in your area about childrens programs.
