Double Trouble 5K, RRCA Texas State Championship 10K set for Oak Grove Park in Grapevine
GRAPEVINE, Texas, September 19, 2011 – Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers will hold its 12th Annual Double Trouble 5K and the Road Runners Club of America Texas State Championship 10K on Oct. 22 at Oak Grove Park in Grapevine.
The 5K run/walk will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the 10K run/walk will begin at 8:45 a.m. Through Oct. 1, entry fee is $15 for LGRAW members and students and $20 for others. Oct. 2 through race day, entry fee is $20 for LGRAW members and students and $25 for others. The first 300 entrants prior to race day will receive a Double Trouble tech shirt. Participants may compete in both races for $5 more but will receive only one shirt.
Registration is online at www.active.com, by mail and in person at Luke’s Locker in Colleyville on Oct. 19 and 20 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. or on race day. Packets may be picked up at Luke’s Locker during registration times or on the day of the race starting at 7 a.m.
Trophies will be presented to the Overall Male and Female winners, along with the male and female Master/Grand Master winners in each race. Male and female Senior Grandmaster awards will also be given in the 10K race. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.
The 5K and 10K race courses wind through the trails around Lake Grapevine. Both courses are USATF certified and will be well marked on race day. The races will be chip timed, using an IPICO system powered by Race Director software.
