Former DC Road Runners Club President Passes
Roger Irwin Peet passed away on September 1, 2010 at his home in Fairfax, Va. He was born April 3, 1934. Roger was the beloved husband of Dottie Aukofer. Roger was president of the D.C. Road Runners Club from 1985-1992. Roger like so many in the running community devoted many hours to the sport and was always willing to support. Each September he could be seen walking up and down the streets of Old Town Alexandria to visit the merchants for support of the DCRRC National Capital 20 Miler. Roger for many years served on the committee of the Northern Telecom Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run (now the Credit Union Cherry Blossom) in the early years. Roger fought the good fight and ran his race against Parkinson.
