GO! St Louis Contributes More Than $350,000 to Local Non-Profits
ST. LOUIS (MO) – May 29, 2014 – GO! St. Louis, a non-profit organization and RRCA member that specializes in providing fitness events and programs for the region on a year-round basis, announced today that the GO! for a Cause charity program helped 30 area charities raise $350,000 for their causes as part of the 14th Annual GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend.
The program debuted in 2010, and continues to expand each year to include new charities and opportunities for official partners to increase fundraising and visibility for their cause. Since the program’s inception, $1,568,967 has been raised for a variety of local charities.
GO! for a Cause encourages other non-profit organizations to recruit stakeholders to participate in the annual GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend, while raising donations for a charity. GO! St. Louis partners with charities by providing them the tools to implement the program, while promoting their participation through social media and traditional marketing. In 2014, more than 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the program on behalf of a selected charity.
Organizations in the 2014 program included: American Parkinson Disease Association – Greater St. Louis Chapter, Angel’s Arms, Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, St. Louis Chapter, Autism Speaks, Casa de Salud, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis, Christ Memorial Health Center of St. Louis , Covenant House Missouri, Cultural Leadership, Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition, Friends of Wings, Gateway to Hope, GO! St. Louis Team for Kids, Habitat for Humanity – St. Louis, Haven House, JDRF – Greater Missouri & Southern Illinois Chapter, Leukemia & Lymphoma – Team in Training, March of Dimes – Missouri Chapter, Mosaic Services, National Children’s Cancer Society, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Pony Bird, Inc., Promo Fund, Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support, SIDS Resources, Inc., SSM Hospice Foundation, St. Louis Area Foodbank, St. Louis Language Immersion Schools, St. Louis Second Wind Foundation, Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Sunnyhill, Inc.
GO! St. Louis, a local non-profit organization, encourages individuals and families in the St. Louis region to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle year round. The organization accomplishes this through community collaborations, school based programming and the creation of new and unique fitness events.
