Marine Corps Marathon Presents Free Jeff Galloway Workshops
Renowned Trainer and Author to Meet DC-Area Runners on May 2-3
QUANTICO, VA (April 18, 2012) – Running a 26.2 mile marathon is no simple task. Because preparation can make all of the difference in a runner’s performance and finish, the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is presenting two free workshops on Wednesday, May 2 in Washington, D.C. and Thursday, May 3 in Quantico, VA with renowned trainer, author and Olympian Jeff Galloway. The workshops open to the public, will feature Galloway providing training tips and advice.
Founder of the Run-Walk-Run method and a runner for more than 50 years, Galloway’s training tips have benefited millions worldwide as they prepare for both short and long distance running events.
The first Galloway workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the U.S. Navy Memorial’s Naval Heritage Center located on 7th and Pennsylvania Avenue in North West Washington, D.C.
A second Galloway workshop will be held on May 3 at 12:30 p.m., on Marine Corps Base Quantico in the Little Hall Theater, located on Barnett Road. No registration is required to attend the workshops. The public is invited to attend either session.

Galloway is author of more than 20 books including “Galloway’s Book on Running,” a columnist for “Runner’s World” and Chief Executive Officer of Galloway Productions. He competed in the 1972
Olympics in the 10K event and broke the U.S. 10-mile record (47:49) in 1973.
About the MCM: Voted the “Best Marathon for Families” and the “Best Marathon in the Mid Atlantic,” the Marine Corps Marathon honors the dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism of its participants. Runners from all walks of life participate in the largest marathon not to offer prize money, earning the name “The People’s Marathon.” The 37th MCM will be held on October 28, 2012 in Arlington, VA. No federal or Marine Corps endorsement is implied.
