RRCA Announces New State Representatives
ARLINGTON, Virginia – October 21, 2011 – The Road Runners Club of America is pleased to welcome four new State Representatives (State Reps). Travis Keller will represent Missouri; Goody Tyler will represent Virginia; Chuck Schneekloth will represent New Jersey; and Lisa Dahl will represent Minnesota.
For over three decades, the RRCA State Reps have served as ambassadors for the organization by providing a physical presence in each state for the RRCA. State Reps promote our programs and services to clubs and events in their home state. They assist the National Office and the RRCA Board in carrying out the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Travis Keller resides in Joplin, Missouri, and is the Treasurer for the Joplin Roadrunners. He has been heavily involved in tornado relief efforts. He is the race director for the Run with the Wind 25K, which the Joplin Roadrunners have been involved with for the last 20+ years. The club has more than doubled its size to over 200 members during the last two years.
“I’m very excited to see the growth in the club, but also the growth in our sport in our community,” said Keller.
Goody Tyler is a native “Norfolkian” (Norfolk, Virginia) although his Army career moved him a few times around the country. He has been an active member of the Tidewater Striders for the past two decades. He has supported his club in various ways including working every aspect of race management, leading aid station support for the club’s ultra-marathon, serving as the club’s volunteer coordinator (past), and serving as the club’s Vice President for four years (past). Goody steps in for Bob Platt, who has been a valuable asset for the RRCA. His time with us is greatly appreciated.
Chuck Schneekloth is a vice principal and track coach from Metuchen, New Jersey. He is currently the Co-President for the Garden State Track Club. After spending the last decade on the West Coast, Chuck returned to New Jersey and was voted 2010 GMC and Area Cross Country Coach of the Year by The Home News and Tribune. Chuck takes over for Dave DeMonico, who has held the position for the past several years. The RRCA thanks him for his passion and service to the RRCA.
Lisa Dahl, originally from Wisconsin, is in a familiar position. She used to be the Kentucky State Rep before moving to Minnesota. Her passion for the RRCA is matched only by her passion for the sport of running. She replaces Kim Maxwell. Kim has been the Minnesota State Rep for many years and we would like to thank her for her passion and service to the RRCA.
The RRCA is very excited to have four new state reps on board as the New Year approaches. We would like to thank them for accepting this role and volunteering their free time. We believe they will not only embrace and enhance the mission and values of the RRCA, but positively influence the sport of distance running within their respective states.
