RRCA National 10 K Spotlight - The 34th Annual Azalea Trail Run hosted by the Port City Pacers

From: AL.com

The 34th Annual Azalea Trail Run, scheduled for March 26, should again feature another big field and some of the top runners in the world. The 10K run has been among the top road races in the country. As in past years, there will also be a 5K (3.1 miles) race and a 2K (1.2 miles) fun run.

The 10K will also serve as the RRCA National 10 K Championship race, on a course that produced one of the lowest 10K road times in history—the course record of 27:26 by Kenya’s Abraham Chebii in 2001—there are sure to be some fast times.

ATR race director Peggy Olive said more than 1,800 runners had registered for the 10K as of March 15, to go with nearly 600 for the 5K and more than 200 for the fun run.

Registration for the ATR costs $22 for the 10K and 5K, and $16 for the fun run. Runners can register online until March 23.
