Jeff Galloway Race Weekend Gives Back! – 2015 Beneficiaries Announced

Jeff Galloway and the Galloway family have always been active and known in the running world, but they are also active in their communities as well. The Jeff Galloway Race Weekend donates the net profits made to a variety of charities and organizations throughout the Atlanta area and the country. Everyone has a reason for running and walking in the events, but participants can also do it for a cause. The Jeff Galloway Race Weekend Beneficiaries are: the Piedmont Park Conservancy, The Piedmont Park Dog Park, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, 26.2 with Donna, the Elliott Galloway Scholarship Fund, and Team 413 (

Participants for the Jeff Galloway Race Weekend 2015 can donate to their favorite non-profit organization during the sign up process or at any time via the race web pages. The team at Jeff Galloway Race Weekend is looking forward to a huge support to one of the following charities, to do more good through using running, walking and participating as the means.

The Piedmont Park Conservancy is a non-profit organization that works alongside with the city of Atlanta for the preservation of the historic park. The Conservancy started in 1989 and since then has raised over $60 million for the restoration and preservation of the park. The Piedmont Park Conservancy also oversees more than ninety percent of Piedmont Park’s daily maintenance, care and security. In Piedmont Park, the Piedmont Park Dog Park can also be found. This nearly three acre dog run is the only place in Atlanta where dogs do not have to be leashed and can run free with their friends. There are entrances and enclosures for both small dogs and large dogs. The Dog Park has been open since 2002 and has been maintained and landscaped for both the dogs and their owners (

Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, TAPS, is the only non-profit Veteran service organization in the country. TAPS is dedicated to assisting the surviving families of military members in any way that they can. With their 24/7 National Military Survivor helpline and national peer support network, TAPS is able to help families find grief counseling referrals, casework assistance, and educational resources. TAPS provides all of their services for free and receive no government funds (

The 26.2 with Donna is a non-profit marathon that Jeff Galloway is a founding member and training director of. This marathon is based out of North Eastern Florida and is dedicated to breast cancer research and care. All net proceeds go to the Mayo Clinic for research and to the Donna Foundation to help the underserved with breast cancer treatment. Since 2008, the 26.2 with Donna has given over $3.5 million dollars to the breast cancer research and care (

Elliott Galloway was Jeff Galloway’s father and believed in teaching and helping children to succeed. His scholarship fund is set up in his memory to honor what he stood for. Elliott Galloway established the Galloway School to help underprivileged children get a Galloway education for those who wanted it. Elliott also began running at age 52 and said it changed his life, so he wanted to change the lives of others (

Team 413 is a non-profit organization that also happens to be the world’s largest ministry for endurance athletes. Their mission is to share Christ and his teachings to “whosoever” through their words and actions on the race courses. They promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of athletes as they run side by side (
