Brenda Groskinsky has been an avid runner for most of her life, running track in high school, and participating in the Hood 2 Coast (H2C) 200-mile relay held in Oregon (as well as other 200-mile relays when the team didn't get the lottery pick) more than 15 times.
Brenda is recently retired from 33 years of service with the U.S. federal government where she implemented collaborative research efforts for the advancement of environmental and human health protection. She has acquired 11 academic degrees, or degree equivalents (7 graduate and 4 undergraduate), during the tenure of her career.
Brenda was nominated for, and is currently serving, her second term as president of the running club in Lawrence, KS – runLawrence (2016-17). Brenda has been a loyal member of the club for more than 10 years and enjoys the camaraderie. She has been working with the club to develop a strategic plan and a budget process that aligns with the goals and objectives of the club using appreciative methods. Specifically, she has been working with the club to both facilitate and implement their mission, which is to support the running traditions in the Lawrence community, while providing support for club members and support of running program opportunities for Lawrence schools.
