Raised by a distance runner and single-parent Marine, Scott Waldrop has been running on and off his entire life. In his mid-30’s he decided to take running seriously. After several marathons, he began running ultras in ’15 and is the winner of the 2018 Charleston 100-miler as well as the winner of ‘The Crewed Division’ of the 2018 Tarheel 378-miler. He is currently the resident running coach, social media content creator, and blogger at New Balance Raleigh where he and his wife also host a free training program. He is an Ambassador athlete for Herren Project and Xoskin. He and his writing have been featured in Endurance Magazine and Ultrarunning Magazine. His story about running The Leadville 100 in ’17 for charity was published by USA Today and The Chicago Tribune. Scott himself is coached by world-renowned ultrarunner Hayden Hawkes with plans to compete in several of the world’s most difficult foot races in the coming days. He holds a BA in Studio Art from George Mason University and is a proud father of a 15-year-old son currently living in Wake Forest.
