Karie started running in 2008 in search of better (and cost-effective) health and fitness as a new single parent. Once-a-week runs quickly turned into four and she signed up for a 10k, half marathon, and marathon—all in her first year of running.Hoping to find a supportive running community, she joined the Salt Lake City Track Club. She has run over 10 marathons, including Boston, NYC, and Chicago, a 50K, and countless other races of varying distances.
She served as Race Director for the Beat the New Year 5K in 2016 and 2017, successfully increasing the participation in and profitability of the previously failing race. As a Level I RRCA coach working on building her coaching business, she coaches the Club’s popular Track Tuesday workouts.
Karie lives in Salt Lake City and works in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) for an aerospace composites engineering company (think airplanes!). She doesn’t sing, but will scream for run-cations and outdoor adventures fueled with coffee and craft beer.
