Coach Michelle Cha-Kim

I began running about 6 years ago, in my early 40's. I previously suffered from lower back spasms and was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, affecting my L4/L5, with a herniation in L5. I've discovered that running actually decreased my back spasms, and with strength training as the foundation of my training, I've been able to complete nine marathons, as well as multiple halfs, 10ks and 5ks. I know that being a runner, specifically one that gets to the starting line uninjured and wants to participate well into my 60-70's, takes more than just a training plan focused on mileage. It's a package deal consisting of strength training, nutrition, hydration, and recovery. To support that philosophy, I am also a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM). It is my goal to share that knowledge with others who have fallen in love with running and are looking for guidance on how to achieve their goals. Because if there is anything that running has taught me, it is that we are capable of so much more than we think!
