I've been a runner for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a running family, and my siblings and I were always out supporting my mom on her training runs or at one of her many marathons. My grandpa ran ultras, my aunts and uncles ran and coached, my dad did an Ironman... Running was in my blood. But the thing I remember most about growing up in this kind of family was the level of support and encouragement it brought to my life. As my high school coach always loved to say, "running is a metaphor for life". It teaches us to work hard, push ourselves, grow stronger than we thought we were. It also teaches us the value of community, the value of having people support your efforts. I want to be one of those people for my fellow runners. After high school, I attended a small school in Singapore that didn't have a cross-country team. I'd already done five half marathons throughout high school, so lacking an official running structure, I worked with my mom to develop a training program for my first marathon, which I completed at 18. From then on, I was hooked! Unfortunately, a hip injury sidelined me for many months after my third marathon. I decided to learn how not to get injured again and put my years of of running knowledge towards an official certification. I want to support other runners! Why? I love all aspects of running, from the athletics to the community and inner strength it creates. My goal as a coach is to help you discover what running can do for you, and make it a viable part of your life. You may not be the fastest, the fittest, or you might be looking for a 26.2 PR. Whatever your goals, I want to help you achieve them. I can't wait to introduce you to and support you in this world of running.
