President Cotter Appoints Vacant At-Large Position
Arlington, VA - RRCA President David Cotter has appointed Jeff Darman to complete the At-large position that became open when Dan Edwards was appointed to the position as RRCA Treasurer. Darman will serve out the remaining term in the At-Large Director position, which runs through May 31, 2013.
Darman served as RRCA president from 1977-79 and was the At-Large director from 1980-82 and 1983-88. He has been instrumental in raising thousand of dollars to support RRCA programs such as the Roads Scholar program and through the RRCA Live Auction at the Convention. He has served on numerous committees and task forces, including the current RRCA Strategic Plan Review Task Force, and is a member of the RRCA Hall of Fame. In 2012, he completed a four-year term on the USATF Board of Directors. Darman is the founder and race director for the ACLI Capital Challenge, a three mile footrace for teams captained by U.S. Senators, members of Congress, the Executive Branch, the media and the Federal Judiciary. He is also on the Borough Council of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
"I am honored to be asked to serve during this important period for the RRCA," explained Darman. "I hope to offer some experience and knowledge that can be useful as the RRCA updates the current strategic plan in advance of the Board elections in 2013."
