RRCA to Celebrate 11th RUN@WORK Day and 5th RUN@School Day

A nationwide movement on Friday, September 16 to
inspire fitness at work and schools

Run@Work DayOn Friday, September 16, 2016, the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), is partnering with many employers and schools across the U.S. to promote the 11th RUN@WORK Day and 5th RUN@School Day.  Through this partnership, organizations are working together to promote physical activity and healthy living within our community and around the country.

The goal of RUN@WORK and RUN@School Day is to encourage adults and children to get 30-minutes or more of exercise each day, either in the morning, during lunch or immediately following work or school. RUN@WORK Day also encourages companies to help employees schedule time for physical activity. Incorporating exercise into one’s daily routine can markedly improve one’s overall physical health.

RUN@WORK Day and RUN@School Day events can be held before work or school, during lunch, or immediately following work or school. RUN@School Day is the perfect time to launch a school running club that meets before, during, or after school hours, or to hold a school-wide event to promote the sport.

"For RRCA, it is great to see and partner with so many companies and schools across America involved in our RUN@WORK Day series of events,” said Jean Knaack, Executive Director of the RRCA. “Participation in the 11th RUN@WORK Day and 5th RUN@School Day is an important step in raising awareness about the importance of daily physical activity for all.”
