Minneapolis/St. Paul – April 24, 2018 – Three Team USA Minnesota runners and RunPro Camp alums – Breanna Sieracki, Kevin Lewis and Danny Docherty – will travel to Des Moines this week to compete in the Drake Relays Distance Carnival on April 26. In Minneapolis, RRCA Roads Scholars Katy Moen (2015) and Tyler Jermann (2017) will run in the 41st annual RRCA Minnesota State Championship Get in Gear 10k on April 28.
At the 109th annual Drake Relays, Sieracki will be among the competitors in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase. Lewis and Docherty are entered in the men’s 5000 meter race which will also be held Thursday evening at Drake Stadium.
Sieracki has a best in the steeple of 9:56, while Lewis has posted 13:43 in the 5000m and Docherty has a 14:15 best in the distance. Lewis is a native of Ottumwa, Iowa, who ran at the University of Iowa and competed many times on the Drake Blue Oval both as a prep – he won the Iowa Class 4A 1600m and 3200m titles in 2011 - and as a collegiate runner.
Get in Gear 10k
Katy Moen and Tyler Jermann will be among the competitors at the Get in Gear 10k on Saturday. The race begins at 9:00 a.m. and starts and finishes in Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis.
Moen has posted 33:05 in the 10,000 meters on the track and most recently ran 54:12 at the USA 15k Championships on March 10 and 56:04 in the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile on April 8. Jermann, a marathoner who ran a personal best of 2:16:39 at Houston in January, is dropping down in distance as he prepares for Grandma’s Marathon in June. Most recently he posted 49:50 at the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile.
