SOLANA BEACH, Calif.
(Oct. 25, 2018) – For the tenth consecutive year, ElliptiGO Inc
, alongside the Global ElliptiGO Riders Club
, hosted their Rally Weekend featuring recreational riding, competitive climbing and social gatherings. The ElliptiGO World Championships at Palomar Mountain remains the weekend’s paramount event. Professional runner, ElliptiGO rider and RunPro Camp attendee (2015) and Roads Scholar (2017) Johnny Crain surmounted the 11.69 mile, 4,209 feet climb in 1:11:33 to take first place for the men’s elliptical bike category, dethroning seven-time champion Rusty Snow. Katie James, also a professional runner and ElliptiGO rider, earned the top spot for women in the elliptical bike division with a time of 1:32:20.
Stand Up Bikes (SUB) were given their own division at this year’s event as ElliptiGO continues to expand its SUB product line. Billy Grace took first in the men’s SUB category with a time of 1:12:33. Amy Glen earned top honors for women in the SUB category, climbing up the mountain in 1:36:09.
The pioneer and world leader in elliptical and stand up cycling welcomed more than 100 customers throughout the weekend’s festivities. Riders enjoyed a reception at ElliptiGO headquarters on Friday evening, the ElliptiGO World Championships on Saturday morning, group rides throughout North San Diego County on Saturday afternoon, and an awards banquet on Saturday evening.
Awards were given by both the Global ElliptiGO Riders Club and the brand’s internal leadership for outstanding athletic achievements and actions that encourage the growth of the sport. The 2019 Authentic and Inspiring Award was presented to Tera Moody for her generosity. She donated ten ElliptiGO 8C bikes with the wish that they be used to share the ElliptiGO experience with others. These bikes were used as a part of the Put A Bow On A GO contest, and as a part of the active Ride Together, Rise Together contest.
“After an entire decade of ElliptiGO Rally and World Championship weekends, you might wonder if we have seen it all, but that is not the case,” said ElliptiGO CEO Bryan Pate. “Each year, we meet more and more customers with unique stories and inspiring goals. They are what drives our team to keep innovating in this growing category that has changed their lives for the better.”
