The Road Runners Club of America congratulates Mitchell Garner, RRCA president, who has been elected to the USA Track and Field (USATF) Board of Directors as the representative for the 5C organizations. The 5C organizations are defined in the USATF bylaws and includes: RRCA, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Running USA, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Garner will complete the current term for the 5C organization representative to the USATF Board of Directors following a recent vacancy in the position. He will serve on the USATF Board through December 2020.
“As Mitch’s term as RRCA president concludes in March 2020, he will be a perfect representative for the 5C organizations, as he will not bring employment or leadership conflicts to the USATF Board of Directors.” Explained Jean Knaack, RRCA Executive Director. “Mitch is a highly ethical person and his experience as an attorney and a life-long advocate for the sport of running will be a strength for not only the 5C organizations but for USATF as a whole.”
