Grapevine, TX: Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers
(RAW), a running and walking club whose purpose is to encourage fitness through running and walking as a healthy lifestyle has selected five recipients to each be awarded a $1000 donation. The club’s Charitable Giving Policy encourages the club to award a portion of race proceeds to other non-profit organizations who align with RAW’s purpose of promoting fitness through running and walking as a healthy lifestyle, one in which the whole family can participate.
The club’s Board of Directors met recently and selected these five non-profits to receive a $1000 donation from RAW:
- The Cowtown C.A.L.F. (Children’s Activities for Life & Fitness)
- Dallas Elite Track Club
- RISE Adaptive Sports
- Kids Run the Nation Grant Program – Road Runners Club of America
- Special Olympics Texas (Area 11-Greater Fort Worth)
Since RAW’s inception in 1997, the club has donated more than $130,000 to non-profits. Recently, the club started a scholarship program that awards a one time scholarship to a Grapevine Colleyville ISD graduating senior or a graduating club member.
